CCS welcomes Dr. Wesley S. Johnson

Dr. Johnson has served Sampson County through his work in public education for approximately twenty years. His career began in 1998 as a high school Math Teacher for Union High School. He then worked as the Health and Physical Education Teacher for Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School for four years before moving to Hobbton Middle School as the Assistant Principal. He became Principal of Hobbton Middle School in 2004 and Principal of Hobbton High School in 2006.

Dr. Johnson was promoted to Director of Digital Teaching, Learning and Accountability in 2013, and to the position of Assistant Superintendent in 2017. In this position, Dr. Johnson oversees the Curriculum and Instruction Services for Sampson County Schools.

Dr. Johnson holds several degrees: Bachelor of Science (from Campbell University), Master of Education in School Administration, and Doctor of Education (from East Carolina University)
